Rosso Toscana IGT
Merlot 100%
14% Alcohol
Colle Bereto’s history which dates back to the 11th century, transformed to new life in the 1970’s, today finds its origins in simple and authentic values of love for the family and for the territory. Located in the heart of Radda in Chianti it is a magical place that has succeeded over thirty years to fascinate the Pinzauti family who chose it as the ideal place to start their wine adventure. Only manual work and respect for nature and certified organic farming methods are used. For a good wine three things are indispensable: a good season, good soil, and someone who, with passion, manages to treat everything in an exceptional way, both at the vineyard level and in the cellar. -
Il Tocco is the grand cru of the estate. This wine, one of the first IGT Super Tuscans, was created in 1983 as 100% Sangiovese and is now a pure Merlot. The way this wine has evolved over the years is the result of the Pinzauti’s family’s experiment that was as daring as it has been successful, and has given this wine its distinctive personality. It has a “touch” – because that is what tocco means – a touch of sober elegance, and a “touch” of unusual aromas and harmonious roundness, that respect tradition while exalting the great potential of the Chianti Classico terroir. Fermented in 30-Hl wooden vats, the wine ages in new oak barriques for 18 months, and is then aged in the bottle before release. It is a highly structured wine that has a deep ruby-red color with purple highlights, with spicy aromas of ripe fruits and jam, and a warm, soft flavor. Only 3,500 bottles produced.
