Born in 2000 and bred with the dedicated passion of Jessica Pellegrini, a young volcanic one woman powerhouse, Fattoria del Pino is a new and tiny gem from Montalcino. The winery is located on the west side of "Montosoli", one of the most highly reputed "Crus" in the appellation. All of the 5 hectares are planted exclusively with the Sangiovese Grosso grape, prince of the territory. The vineyards are planted on marl, limestone, and sandstone soil.Jessica's approach, both in the vineyards and in the cellar, are extremely natural. Organic practices, using only natural fertilization, without chemical products in the vineyards. -
A good medium ruby red color. Sexy, super-ripe aromas and flavors of crystallized red cherry, blackberry liqueur and figs. Hints of the forest floor; mushrooms and herbs. Plush, pliant and perfumed, firm and silky tannins, not over complex but creamy and already delicious. The finish is long and persistent and has juicy flavors of black cherry and licorice that impart an almost candied ripeness.
