Rosso Toscana IGT
Sangiovese 100%

This is the first fruit from new vines parented by ancient mother vines which gives this wine a special freshness and vibrancy. The name comes from Gottifredo lord of Monterinaldi more than a thousand years ago. “Gotto” is Tuscan for a “good drop of young wine” and it is enjoyed the old way in a “Gottino” which is like a small water glass of around 10 cl., the typical glass used in an Italian Osteria to serve a good and sincere red wine to have with an everyday meal. -
Ruby red in color, on the nose it reveals a wide sensation of small red fruits; mostly cherry with other dried berries. No oak, this wine is aged in cement vats which allows all the taste and smell of the fresh fruit to come through unmasked, medium bodied, silky tannins and quite good acidity very well balanced wine with a fresh finish, drink now.
The Castle of Monterinaldi settlement, in the commune of Radda in Chianti, in the heart of the oldest historical area of the Chianti Classico, is situated near an ancient Etruscan route. Eighteen single Vineyards, 38 terroirs, 55 hectares, as self contained as a turtle: Sangiovese of different clones, Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Gamay, Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet-Franc, Malvasia Bianca, Trebbiano, Chardonnay. Monterinaldi today is an estate in conversion to the organic management which will become organic certified from 2017 vintage.
